70 yr service pin awarded at the 2018 Retirees Christmas Luncheon
Updated On: Aug 19, 2019
During our December Retirees Christmas luncheon, there were many service pins presented. Among those, Eben McGinty received his 70 year service pin! After graduating high school in 1942, Bro. McGinty chose to join the U.S. Marine Corps and he served on the Western front in W.W. II. In 1948, he graduated from sign school while in New York. He then returned to Shreveport, LA where he was initiated into the IBEW LU 194 on 7/19/1948 as a Sign Journeyman. Over the next 40 plus years, Bro. McGinty worked for various signatory contractors throughout Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Oklahoma. In April of 1991, he retired from the IBEW. Bro. McGinty is now 94 years old and drove himself from Oklahoma to the luncheon. From the membership of LU 194, we THANK YOU for your many years of dedication to the IBEW.
